South Sudan Football Association has confirmed that the head coach of the national football team has resigned, just six months after signing a two-year contract.
Ahcene Ait Abdelmalek tendered his resignation letter on Tuesday.
Ait Abdelmalek resignation came after the recent defeat by Mali at home three weeks ago.
After Bright Stars loss, a technical team headed by Abdul Malik were subjected to the Fact Finding Committee after the defeat against Mali.
Addressing a press conference today, the association spokesperson, Daniel Alul said Mr. Ait Abdelmalek quit over a break down in the relationship with the Federation.
“Our national team coach gave us his resignation as the board of directors, and after discussions, we realize that Mr. Ait Abdelmalek is not qualified to be a coach of South Sudan national team and that’s why we accepted his resignation and he said that he cannot continue with the national team because he failed to get harmony and good coordination with SSFA members.”
Daniel Alul said SSFA has now assigned the assistant coach, Ramsey Sabit as the acting Coach for bright Stars.
“We have given all the responsibilities of our national team to coach Sabit Ramsey and his crew to continue with our national team.”
Mr. Alul said the acting coach will be leading the team in the next two games against Gabon this month in Libreville and Juba on 12th and 16th next month.
Abdelmalek has never won any match with the bright stars.
In March, the Algerian-born German replaced Abdurrahman Rajab who had been in charge of the team since December last year.
