South Sudanese president Salva Kiir has spoken out regarding his potential successor should he retire. In a meeting he conducted with those of Kuol Manyang and Ateny Wek at J1 yesterday, Kiir put it that he sees his throne being sat on by a musician as he says these people try their best to unite our people.
Kiir praised John Kudusay and Silva X saying that they are very gifted leaders and can possibly get them into his government if they are interested in politics at all. This is not the first time Kiir mentioned his admiration towards musicians. Two years ago he urged musicians to form an organization where they will be paid on monthly basis.
Kiir urged almost all South Sudanese to listen to ana taban as he claims it to contain a very strong message and in fact he revealed to the Source that the song is his Ringtone. Among the musicians acknowledge is Meen of Coozos clan.
The president urges all South Sudanese musicians to work on songs that will promote unity among the South Sudanese people. He told Kuol Manyang that these little boys singing their lungs out will one day succeed them as they are determined to promote national peace.
However although the president is a big fan of music, he discourages random venturing in the field when one is clueless. He said, ”Almost every family has a musician and this is not good. The nation is becoming noisy with tones of clueless musicians, But if you are gifted, I encourage you to continue”
