South Sudanese rapper Riak Riak is determined to help struggling rappers in South Sudan achieve their rap goals through rap lessons he will start once he lands in the country. Riak is not opening a music school instead he will just be teaching hip hop at his desired location in Juba as reported.
The rapper who is based in Australia has been very prolific in the recent years and he feels accomplished that he figures it is time to lend a hand to those following his footsteps. Talking to Tripple M radio in Melbourne, Riak said, ‘We have rappers in South Sudan but they lack confidence and exposure’.
The rapper claims his hip hop tutoring in South Sudan will start around August this year and runs for 3 months or so. Riak is preparing to take off to South Sudan in July according to the source. He will be accompanied by a white hypeman and lady who have been helping him through everything.
The rapper sees this as an opportunity for up coming rappers to boost their skills with advanced lyrics writing from himself and crew. He continues, ‘I want to teach them how to write a good rap song and encourage them more on how to build profession confidence’.
Unlike K Denk did, Riak will only choose to sponsor those who will learn adequately in those three months. He plans to host an ending concert for his students to battle with their rap skills so that he picks the best out of them. Sounds like a great opportunity for our rappers.
