Music Top countdown/Chart is a term used frequently in the music world. It is generally used as a label for mainstream all genres of music, particularly as played on the radio stations.
Early 90s radio programming was different from what it is today. Most radio stations broadcast chunks of programming, possibly playing 30 minute of traditional songs, then an hour of local music, then 30 minutes of news, etc. Much of the content was produced elsewhere and sold to the local radio station. Local hit songs were rarely played if at all.
Nevertheless the scenario of not playing the local songs seem to be continuing in these current regime of South Sudan, of recent some top Radio presenters from Eye Radio and Radio Miraya were accused of being practicing tribalism and fraudulent in promoting the local songs, the two parties were accused of playing specific songs from other tribes other than the entire 64tribes in the country.
