Members of the Jubek state Legislative Assembly have condemned the recent insecurity caused by cattle keepers in Dolo and Lado counties and called for the return to their respective states.
According to the MPs, there has been ongoing insecurity in Dolo, Lado, Lobonok, Lokiliri, Lirya, Rokon and other counties of Jubek state which has resulted to the displacement of people from their homes.
Honorable Emmanuel Joseph Kiri is the chairperson for committee of information in Jubek state Legislative Assembly:
“The Jubek Legislative Assembly condemn in the strongest possible terms the barbaric acts committed by the cattle keepers,” he said.
He told journalists after the extra-ordinary meeting of the Assembly Business committee, that the state government should facilitate the return of the pastoralist to allow the displaced persons return to the homes.
“The state parliament also urge the state government to encourage the humanitarian Organization to urgently deliver food and non-food items to the displaced citizens of Dolo,” stressed Hon Joseph.
He also called on the authorities to investigate and arrest individuals engaged in the acts.
